too cute

animal restaurant on fairfax
appetizer #1
raw amberjack
w/ apple, pom, cilantro, jalapeno, cucumber, citrus
i do usually LOVE yellowtail
but this was just okay
quality was really good
but i was not very impressed / amused

appetizer #2
foie gras
biscuit
maple sausage gravy
OH
MY
GOD
if i ever come back here
it will be for this

the 109 for two
rib eye in foie gras sauce
that first bite was pretty amazing
but i would try something else next time
this place's focus is on meat-centric cooking
so it WAS really good
but i prefer that grilled flavor
next time will also try for dessert
their bacon chocolate crunch bar

tofu ya on sawtelle
came here for lunch w/ co-workers
ordered bulgogi which was meh

my co-workers ordered the lunch box special
i usually really dislike teriyaki chicken / ca rolls
but this was not bad
and the skewers were pretty good

kincaid's on redondo pier
my friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich
was kind of huge!!

we shared some oysters
pretty good, not bad
but not cold enough
i like my half shell oysters ICE cold

mac n' cheese with bacon
HANDS DOWN best restuarant macaroni and cheese ever!
gobs of melted cheese throughout
and the bacon wasn't all chunky or in the way
so good

maple chicken salad
w/ pear, pecans, blue cheese, maple vinaigrette
ICK DO NOT WANT!
the pears were perfect and the chicken was really good
but the salad was way overdressed
w/ THE most overpowering syrupy mess
ugh no do not order this

burnt cream
previously the only thing that kept me coming back to kincaid's
their creme brulee is my favorite

trastevere @ hollywood and highland center
salmone e piselli w/ penne
PERFECTLY cooked salmon
w/ peas in vodka cream tomato sauce
shitty photo i know
but this pasta was SO DELICIOUS

korean rice cakes @ work
made by my boss's wife
so good
could eat these all day

breakfast @ amandine
florentine omelette
one of my favs
mushroom, swiss, spinach

omelette amandine
ham, sauce bechamel, gruyere
what you order is what you get
fresh, tasty and homey

croque madame sandwich
sauce bechamel, ham, gruyere, fried egg

delice au chocolat
cannot go to amandine and not get this!
best chocolate cake EVER

fleming's in el segundo
too dark to get good photos of our amazing steaks
or the amazing blue cheese mashed potatoes
but did leave with some chocolate covered strawberries

disneyland food!!
uva bar for tapas @ downtown disney
please excuse crappy photos
we ate outside at the bar and it was dark out
red & gold beets w/ shaved fennel in vinaigrette
i love beets but this was just ok
kinda boring

spicy tuna tartare w/ avocado and crositini
REALLY good
would get this again for sure

mussels & clams
w/ chorizo in a white wine broth
was really tasty but not very worth it
prob would not get this again

and now for park food!!
caramel apple w/ peanuts

$6 for a corn dog??
outrageous right?
BUT FREAKING AMAZING
best corn dog i have ever had
get them at the red cart near plaza inn at the end of main street
or at paradise pier in ca adventure

dole whip!!
pineapple deliciousness
get it outside the enchanted tiki room in adventureland

no that is not another corn dog
that is straight up a melted log of cheddar in there
this one def requires sharing
only saw this at paradise pier in ca adventure

must go to the boudin bakery and mission tortilla factory
in golden state at ca adventure
soup breadbowls!
broccoli cheddar
delicious but too much bread
not enough soup

same goes for corn bisque
not a fan of this one
go for the clam chowder or broccoli cheddar
bread was great of course

holiday time = small world lights
freaking pretty :)

someone brought this tart over for thanksgiving
no idea where it's from but was delicious

vegetarian bean curd rolls
part of our multi-cultural thanksgiving dinner

diddy riese in westwood
chocolate chocolate chip walnut cookies
w/ cookies n' cream ice cream
fatty

some appetizers @ father's office
spanish mushrooms
a pretty small dish
but ok for sharing and super tasty

steak tartare w/ cracked quail egg
i really really liked
the capers were a bit much
but still would order this again to share

more korean bbq @ guh mok in torrance
love wraps! esp radish

we ordered combo C
was a good amount of food for 4
i can't ever hate on korean bbq

IF I WAS A BOY i would turn off my phone and eat

bar hayama
age dashi tofu was meh

bento lunch special was damn cute

some tasties off of their macrobiotic lunch plate
all these were kind of strangely sweet

the good stuff!
super fresh
yellowtail and salmon were both soooo good

almond custard
WHICH I HATE
but i have to admit this is cute
which got me to try to eat it anyway
lol

spicy tuna rolls
not bad at all
the tempura shrimp was also REALLY really good
they have a huge sake list
and the chillest looking fireplace patio set-up
have to DEFINITELY go back here

king's fish house
i think this is one of those places that has good days
or REALLY bad days
i don't know about their other locations
but oysters are always really decent at long beach one
i can never tell by looking at them if they're fresh or crappy
but they do always taste good here
the danish walnut salad is bomb
if only b/c you get a LARGE chunk of blue cheese
someone always orders fish
and every time but once
the fish has been good
also their sides..
the sauteed spinach always seems old
you know, like way too dark and smushy almost?
the mac n cheese is awesome
but when has anyone ever had bad restaurant mac n cheese?

la dijonaise cafe
the crappiest french onion soup would prob still be delicious to me
that being said, i liked it
but didn't think it was amazing or anything

fresh mozzarella sandwich
w/ basil, tomato, vinaigrette and prosciutto
i ended up eating just the insides
which were yum!
baguette was tasteless, dry and crumbly

raspberry tart and mousse
didn't get to try either of these
because i went for the chocolate eclair
WHICH SUCKED
was more like a dry, tasteless doughnut
filled w/ chocolate pudding
lol
should have swiped the tart while i had a chance!
(that's what she said ..?)

chabuya tokyo noodle bar
so glad i went back to this place!!
never enjoyed their hot ramen much
but all their other dishes i've tried so far are good
this age dashi tofu is the way i like it best
with way too much super garlic-y broth
and super sticky yet crunchy batter
SO GOOD

chinese bbq pork in a steamed bun
deconstructed char siu bau??
i like the sauce they use for these
a mini is 1 sammy
a full order is 2

sesame fried chicken
texture was PERFECT
it came out crazy hot and fresh too
all the green onion and lemon made it almost refreshing to eat
plus it wasn't overly salty

shrimp in steamed bun
they somehow stuff 4 or 5 giant shrimp in there
i think i prefer this over the bbq pork one
and i'm not a big shrimp fan usually

some standard green tea ice cream

charlie kabob
@ the west side pavillion mall food court
my co-workers and i have never eaten so fast!
chicken breast and ground sirloin combo
delicious in our starving states!!
i've only had falafel one other time
so i don't really know how to compare
but i thought it was bomb
