i eat too much

back at ketchy's II in west LA
i HAD to bring my brother
we shared chili fries
got a couple world famous tacos
AND since it was around 10am
we also shared a bacon/egg breakfast burrito
was meh
gonna stick to those tacos
needless to say, we didn't eat much else the rest of that day lol

cannot believe my brother had never had beard papa's!!
that was just unacceptable
so we went and got some
we went to the one on sawtelle in west LA
coffee there seems to always be burned
cream puffs magically delicious as always :)

food at Target!
clam chowder in bread bowl = DO NOT WANT
soup was fishy / icky and bread was cold / hard
chicken tenders didn't deserve a photo
were apparently undercooked and cold in the middle EWW
the only things you can trust are the ICEEs
which for some reason are really good at Target
cold and actually ICEY, not just airy like 7-11 slurpees

homemade (not by me!) birthday cakes
covered in homemade fondant
super freakishly cute
who DOESN'T love eggs?

alpine village for oktoberfest
i'm no sauerkraut connoisseur or anything
but i thought it was meh
mashed potatoes were cold
bread was cold AND hard AND dry
coleslaw was watery and tasteless
HOWEVER
sausage and chili cheese fries were bomb
i think sausage was knackwurst
chili was tasty, cheese was in liquid form lol
and fries were super seasoned
WIN

taco chabelita near k-town
i didn't think i liked nachos like these
but omg
perfect thing to eat when buzzed
and don't want to go to bed yet
(that's a free healthy lifestyle tip for you)

soup plantation in brentwood
i know i know
"who the H eats at soup plantation??"
pshh my co-workers and i frequent SOUP P almost every friday
as much as i want to gag at the thought of their tasteless pastas
and overly salty soups
i admit - i kind of love this place

more BJ's at del amo in torrance
i really thought BJ's was in the same category as Chili's
but you know what?
i freaking love BJ's
WHILE I WILL NEVER STOP HATING CHILI'S lol
spinach & artichoke pizza was so good
wait at this location is long
but service was really good

white chocolate macadamia nut pizookie for dessert

noshi in k-town
my favorite place to eat sushi
been going there since i was a kid
prob since i had teeth!
my first sushi memories were here
eating tuna and cucumber rolls
place looks kind of ghetto
they used to not even serve soda
it's cash only
and don't expect any fancy rolls or anything
but their yellowtail sashimi is just the best thing in the WOLRD to me

the only dynamite i've ever liked is also at noshi
every other "dynamite" i've ever had is watery
or has too much mayo
or tastes bland
THIS dynamite though
is freaking amazing to me

some cut rolls
yellowtail / green onion - amazing
spicy scallop i actually didn't get a chance to try
spicy tuna - I LOVE but it's on the creamier side
salmon skin - drier than i usually prefer but i still almost always order it

salmon and tuna
both delicious!

more sashimi
albacore was like butter! SO good
red snapper was meh, kinda chewy
mackerel i didn't get to try, but i guess it was super fishy

lisa's bon appetit
mainly a catering service
so there's no restaurant ambiance really if you choose to eat-in
BEST chinese chicken salad in the world
it's huge AND cheap AND somehow so refreshing
yum
if you're down with goat cheese
their misto salad is also worth trying

their sandwich specials are almost always good
i once had a smoked turkey
with swiss, garlic aoli and caramelized onions on squaw bread
another time i had buffalo chicken and blue cheese on a roll
both were awesome
here i ordered the tuna melt
which i didn't love actually
b/c there was way too much relish mixed in w/ the tuna
i can make a better one at home for sure

scoop of their chicken salad
2nd best chicken salad i've ever had!
my #1 would have to be the chicken waldorf
at tuttini in santa barbara
so worth trying if you're nearby!

mammoth bakery inside the gardena marukai
honey butter toast!!
omg so tasty
warm soft chewy bread
with loads of butter and honey baked into the top
and crusty all over
gah so good

chabuya tokyo noodle bar
i had tried their ramen in hot broth
and thought it was whatever
but heard their other dishes were worth trying
so i ordered this summer noodle dish
which is served cold with a side of sesame dressing
LOVED IT
the texture of the ramen was perfect
and the whole thing was just tasty and really fresh
